Three arrested in taxicab robbery investigation, Face total of 18 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of three arrests in a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, July 21, 2014, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a taxicab driver picked up three males in the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East area

- the three males directed him to the Finch Avenue East and Pharmacy Avenue area

- when they got there, the males produced a knife, assaulted the taxicab driver and threatened his life

- they stole a quantity of cash, a phone, and the victims's car keys before fleeing the area

- police executed a search warrant and the three males were arrested

Fahmi Osman, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Assault With A Weapon
3) Carrying A Concealed Weapon
4) Possession of a Weapon
5) Uttering Threats

Faruuq Osman, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Assault With A Weapon
3) Carrying A Concealed Weapon
4) Possession of a Weapon
5) Uttering Threats

A 16 year-old boy, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Assault With A Weapon
3) Carrying A Concealed Weapon
4) Possession of a Weapon
5) Uttering Threats
6) three counts of Fail to Comply

The identity of the 16-year-old cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All three males appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
