The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a Community Safety Notification.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2014, Shawn Bansfield, 58, was released from custody. He is currently bound by a number of conditions, including the following:
- not to attend any daycare centre, school ground, playground, arcade, public swimming area or public park where persons who are under the age of 16 are present or likely to be present
- not to enter into any intimate relationship, cohabitation, marriage or common-law relationship with a person who is the parent or guardian of children under the age of 16 until that person has been identified to the Toronto Police Service
He has prior criminal convictions for sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.
Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes is notifying the public about his release because of his potential to re-offend. He will be residing in Toronto and possibly also in Montreal.
He is known to go by the following names: Rene Shawn Bansfield, Shawn Rene St. Denis-Bansfield, Justin Michael Ryan, Ryan Windover, Justin Michael Bansfield, Justin Rene, Shawn St. Denis, and Rene Mansfield.
