#Fraudchat: Cyber Security While on Vacation, Thursday, July 17, 2014, 1 p.m.

When travelling we should be conscious of our cyber risks.

Today at 1 p.m., Constable Scott Mills, Toronto Police Service, will participate in >#fraudchat
Members of the public can follow members of Financial Crimes Social Media Team @hegartyfcu, @reganfcu and @fazelifcu on Twitter while we discuss what type of travel and vacation scams consumers should be on the lookout for.

To follow #fraudchat, members of the public simply need to log on to Twitter from 1 p.m., to 2 p.m., on Thursday July 17, 2014, and follow the #Fraudchat hashtag. An application such as Tweetdeck, which allows users to separately view tweets containing this hashtag, is also helpful in following the chat.

About #Fraudchat

#Fraudchat is a weekly Twitter chat that takes place every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., on Twitter. Launched in November 2012, this program seeks to educate and exchange ideas with the public about financial crimes and fraud. The moderators for this program are Detective Gail Regan and Detective Natalie Hegarty of Financial Crimes Unit and members of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
