Police request assistance with Theft of a dog investigation, Sunnybrook Park, Update, Man wanted for Filing False Information

On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, the Toronto Police Service made the public aware of a wanted man arising from a Theft of a dog investigation.

Review excerpt from previous release:

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Bayview Avenue and Blythwood Road also known as Sunnybrook Park, a woman met with a man who identified himself on Kijiji as a professional dog trainer

- after a short conversation, the man grabbed the dog from the woman

- the man fled with the dog, into a navy-blue pick-up truck, which was waiting close by

- the dog is described as a five-month-old, male, black Cane Corso, with a white chest patch

The man is described as brown, 6'0", 25-30, short dark hair, with possible acne scars. He was wearing dark clothing.

Officers continued to investigate this incident over the next three weeks. The puppy was found and the alleged abductor investigated.

It is alleged that:

- the puppy had been given away through a classified ad

- the owner had a change of heart and wished to get his pet back

- he travelled to Toronto with another friend

- they told officers a fictitious story to get police to find his dog

- a great deal of time and resources were used chasing this false story

Michael Bragali, 29, of Montreal, is now wanted on a Warrant in the First Instance for:

1) Public Mischief

He is described as white, 5'7", muscular build, tanned complexion, and brown eyes.

The puppy was returned without harm.
