Quick arrests in multiple Break-and-Enter investigation, Property recovered

During the early morning hours of Monday, July 7, 2014, officers were called to attend in the Kingston Road and Queen Street East area, for a number of Break-and-Enters into homes.

It is alleged that:

- following an extensive canvass by officers, 14 properties were identified as having had their garages broken into and property stolen, including several expensive bicycles

- investigators utilized forensic evidence collected at the scene, tips and video evidence received from the public, to identify a suspect

- early yesterday evening, officers from the 55 Division Major Crime Unit arrested and charged a man and three boys from Toronto with the break-and-enters

- they were charged with being in possession of property obtained by crime as all four males were in possession of the stolen bicycles and property at the time of their arrest

Ryan Rowe, 19, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A boy, 17, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Break-and-Enter and Commit
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A boy, 17, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A boy, 16, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The majority of stolen property was recovered and will be returned to the owners. In addition, a handgun and ammunition were allegedly seized at the location the arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.

55 Division would like to thank the public who responded to yesterday's request for assistance on both social media and in a news release. Police would also like to remind the public to be vigilant in securing their residences, vehicles and valuables at all times and to check out the following link and register their bicycles. Registration makes getting recovered bicycles returned to their owners much easier.
