Boy, 17, arrested in Attempt Murder investigation, Faces five charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an Attempt Murder investigation.

Please see excerpt from previous news release:

On Friday, May 9, 2014, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Toronto Police Service responded to a shooting in the Dundas Street East and Greenwood Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- a boy, 17, got into an altercation with two men

- the boy pulled out a firearm and discharged several shots

- one man fled on foot, the other man fled in a motor vehicle
On Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 2:45 p.m., a 17-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested in Trenton by the Ontario Provincial Police. He is charged with:

1) two counts of Discharge Firearm Endanger Life
2) Possession of a Restricted Weapon
3) Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, July 6, 2014, 10 a.m., courtroom 101.

The boy cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation, and subsequent arrest of the boy.
