Grade 12 students from four police divisions will donate blood to Canadian Blood Services on Monday, April 8, 2013. Mondays clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Service members and students in 11, 12, 13 and 14 Divisions will make the donations at a mobile clinic in the parking lot of 12 Division, 200 Trethewey Drive.
Long-time blood donor Sandra McQuade, the administrative coordinator at 12 Division, said the School Resource Officers in the Divisions were instrumental in encouraging the students to participate in the program.
The students are giving back by donating blood and, at the same time, they will be interacting with our officers in a positive way, she said. Its a new experience to share together and a partnership in life-saving.
The Canadian Blood Services mobile clinic is a climate-controlled tractor-trailer that can be set up in a parking lot or curbside.
