The Toronto Police Service, along with other police and traffic-safety partners from across the province, joined efforts to participate in a two-day commercial vehicle safety inspection initiative.
On Monday, June 16, 2014, and Tuesday, June 17, 2014, traffic-safety partners conducted safety education and enforcement aimed at the drivers of commercial vehicles. The goal was to increase public safety through this initiative which took place at the Woodbine Race Track at 555 Rexdale Road, Toronto.

York Regional Police
Peel Regional Police
Halton Regional Police
South Simcoe Police Service
Aylmer Police Service
Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Ministry of Transportation
Ministry of the Environment
Ministry of Revenue and Fuels
Canada Border Services
Barrie Police Service
Toronto By-Law Enforcement Office
As a result of this initiative, a total of 446 commercial vehicles were inspected. Of these inspections, 104 vehicles were taken off the road due to safety violations, a total of 590 charges were issued and five people were arrested by the Canada Border Services Agency.
