Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of arrests following the robbery of a G4S Cash Solutions armoured car at Fairview Mall.
On Monday, January 20, 2014, at 10:25 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at the Fairview Mall at 1800 Sheppard Avenue East.
Police responded and located an armoured car in the parking lot.
It is alleged that:
- two men, wearing balaclavas, interrupted at gunpoint the security guards who were making a delivery,
- shots were exchanged between one of the security guards and one of the men
- a quantity of money was taken and both men fled in a silver vehicle,
- the vehicle was located by police a short distance away
The armored guards were not injured during the robbery.
On Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 6 a.m., Toronto Police executed ten search warrants, which included three vehicles at addresses across the Greater Toronto Area.
On the Thursday, June 12, 2014, eleven people were arrested. Four of these arrests are directly involved with the armoured car robbery. Arrests were also made in relation to a street robbery that occurred on Friday, May 23, 2014.
The remainder of the arrests made were criminal and narcotic offences, not directly related to this investigation.

6) Unauthorized possession of firearm

A quantity of marijuana, cocaine, hashish, psylocybin, MDMA, Canadian currency, a .45 cal handgun and three replica handguns were seized.
