On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 7:43 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision on the southbound Don Valley Parkway, near Don Mills Road.
It is alleged that:
− a 36-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Kia Forte at a high rate of speed and making several erratic lane changes while southbound on the Don Valley Parkway, near Don Mills Road
− a 49-year-old man was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van southbound on the Don Valley Parkway, approaching Don Mills Road in the centre lane
− as the Kia made a lane change, from the passing lane to the centre lane, it struck the driver's side of the Chevrolet Astro van, causing the driver of the van to lose control of the vehicle,
− the van left the roadway and rolled over,
− the driver of the Kia was arrested at the scene.
A 49-year-old man, a passenger in the van, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Georgia Psyrris, 36, of Markham, has been charged with:
1) Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
2) Criminal negligence causing bodily harm
3) Driving while under suspension
She was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 10 a.m., courtroom 507.
