On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at approximately 2 p.m., police received a call for a Suspicious Incident in the Dupont Street and Ossington Street area.
It is reported that:
- a boy, 12, was riding his bicycle in the area
- an unknown man attempted to lure him into his van
- the boy rode home and told his parents
Investigating officers scoured the area and located security camera video. Pictures of this suspicious man have been released.
The man is described as white, approximately 60, heavy build, balding with salt-and-pepper hair and white facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured tank top and dark-coloured pants. He was seen driving a brown-or-grey-coloured older model Ford Windstar-type Van.
Parents are reminded to speak to their children about safety practices when approached by strangers.
