On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 3:18 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision, involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, at Royal York Road at Bell Royal Court.
It is reported that:
- a 21-year-old woman was standing on the northeast corner of Royal York Road and Bell Royal Court
− a garbage truck, driven by a 39-year-old man, was servicing the area of Royal York Road and Bell Royal Court
− as the truck was northbound on Royal York Road, the truck made a right turn on to Bell Royal Court
− as the driver continued to service the route, he noticed the woman lying on the roadway
The 21-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, May 31, the 39-year old driver was charged with:
1) Careless driving
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Thursday, July 3, 2014, courtroom C, 1:30 p.m.
