Sexual Assault Alert, Update, Man arrested, facing five charges connected to three Sexual Assault investigations, Robert Longo, 23, Police believe there may be more victims

On Thursday, May 29, 2014, members of Sex Crimes arrested a man in the Royal York Road and La Rose Avenue area, in connection with three Sexual Assault investigations.

It is alleged that:

- on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at approximately 2:15 a.m., a woman, 24, got off a TTC bus in the Islington Avenue and Summitcrest Drive area

- she was approached by a man

- he forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her

- the woman was able to fight him off and he fled east through a parking lot towards Islington Avenue

It is further alleged that:

- on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a woman, 29, was walking in the Islington Avenue and Summitcrest Avenue area

- a man followed the woman, grabbed her from behind, forced her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her

- the man fled running northbound on Waterford Drive

It is further alleged that

- on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 2 a.m., a woman, 25, exited a TTC bus in the Eglinton Avenue West and Scarlett Road area

- she saw a man pacing on the northwest corner

- she continued to walk along La Rose Avenue

- the man approached the woman from behind, grabbed her around the neck, and threw her to the ground

- he sexually assaulted her

- he then fled on foot, westbound on La Rose Avenue, towards Royal York Road

- all the women were unknown to the man.

Robert Longo, 23, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault (three counts)
2) Overcome Resistance: Choking (two counts)

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, May 20, 2014, room 206, 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be more victims.
