Armored car Robbery investigation, Reward offered, Security camera footage released along with photographs of two vehicles

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, Hold Up Staff Inspector Mike Earl held a press conference on developments in an armored car robbery investigation.

Garda announced a reward of up to $10,000 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the armored car robbery at Fairview Mall in Toronto on Monday, January 20, 2014.

It is alleged that:

- as a G4S armored car parked outside Fairview Mall, a silver 2000 Dodge Caravan pulled up alongside and two armed suspects confronted the guards.

- there was an exchange of gunfire between the guards and the suspects

- the suspects fled with a money bag.

- the getaway vehicle was abandoned a kilometre away

- this vehicle was purchased from a sale advertised on Kijiji and purchased on Friday, January 10, 2014, by a female described as black, 5'6", 160 lbs., with long hair and a round face.

Investigators would like to speak with the woman who purchased the van.

The suspects are described as:

1) male, wearing gloves, a balaclava ski mask, a black-and-grey sweater and black pants

2) male, disguised with a mask and wearing gloves

- both suspects were armed with handguns.

The investigators are appealing for the public's assistance identifying these suspects.
