On Thursday, May, 8, 2014, at 7 p.m., "Project O" will be celebrating the half-way point and awarding the participating youth with uniforms at Monarch Park Stadium, 1 Parkmount Road.

"Project O" is a boot-camp-style fitness program where at-risk youth train with police officers to compete as a team at the Spartan Race on Saturday, June 21, 2014.

The Spartan Race is a timed 5-km extreme obstacle course which takes place in Hardwood Hills, Barrie. This race drew over 10,000 participants in 2013.

Former U.S. Marine drill instructor Tony A, of Fit Factory Fitness, is leading the training on Thursday, May 8, 2014 by whipping the team into shape using his challenging military training methods.

After the challenging workout, the TPS will be providing 15 of the at-risk youth with "Project O" gym uniforms as a reward for their commitment and hard work.

"Project O" is proudly sponsored by Fit Factory Fitness & Loblaws. "Project O" is funded by ProAction Cops & Kids who support police programs for youth at risk.
