In an effort to continue the focus on warrant enforcement and its mission to keep their neighbourhoods safe, 55 Division has launched the Warrant Task Force.
Detective Vicki Westervelt, from the Criminal Investigative Bureau, is overseeing the program which involves dedicating two frontline officers to work as a warrant apprehension team. This task force is engaging officers at 55 Division to assist them in locating and arresting the Division's most wanted people.
Since the Warrant Task Force was launched on Friday, March 21, 2014, the apprehension team has facilitated the execution of 34 warrants for criminal offences. Four of those arrests have been identified by recent Wanted Wednesday postings:
1) Ricky Gibb
2) Kurija Gift
3) Nathaniel Bigcanoe
4) Carey Taylor
