On Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 8:44 p.m., police responded to calls for a shooting in the area of 2215 Danforth Avenue.

It has now been determined that:
- both men were known to each other
- on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, the two met unintentionally near 2215 Danforth Avenue
- an argument ensued, resulting in a physical altercation
- both men drew their firearms and shot each other dead
- one firearm was located at the scene, under Jonathan Stefan Khan
- the other firearm was taken from the scene by a third party and has not been recovered
- this is the subject of a separate investigation
The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the community in the Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue area for their assistance. Their participation in this investigation, including providing security camera footage, enabled the investigation to be solved.

Once on scene, police located two men on the sidewalk, with apparent gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital, and later succumbed to their injuries.Homicide, with the assistance of the Centre of Forensic Science, 54 Division, and 55 Division, has completed the investigation.
The men have been identified as:
1) Jonathan Stefan Khan, 21, of Toronto
2) Shawn Chestnut-Reddick, 22, of Toronto
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2014.
