On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 7 p.m., the School Crossing Guard Long Service Awards will be presented at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, in the Rotunda.
Toronto Police Service Deputy Chief Peter Sloly and Alok Mukherjee, Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board, will be presenting the School Crossing Guard Long Service Awards.
Over 110 School Crossing Guards will be recognized for their service to the community.
One of the recipients will receive an individual presentation for the "Crossing Guard of the Year" award.
The School Crossing Guard Appreciation Night outlines the important work crossing guards do every day, assisting children safely across in all sorts of weather and environmental conditions.
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
