Three men arrested for series of retail robberies, One man still outstanding

TPS Hold Up officers have made arrests arising from a series of violent retail robberies between December 6, 2013, and January 8, 2014.

It is alleged that:

- a group of four men targeted variety stores in the city's east end and York region

- the men wore masks and produced firearms

- they would enter the stores pointing their guns at store employees

- they made demands for cash and cigarettes

- in many of the robberies, the store employees were assaulted with the guns

Cory Higgs, 25, of Toronto, faces the following charges:

1) Robbery While Armed with a Firearm (nine counts)
2) Wear Disguise with Intent (five counts)
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Tivone Earl Harriott, 20, of Toronto, faces the following charges:

1) Robbery While Armed with a Firearm (eight counts)
2) Wear Disguise with Intent (four counts)
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (three counts)

Richard Jumpp, 25, of Markham, faces the following charges:

1) Robbery While Armed with a Firearm (nine counts)
2) Wear Disguise with Intent (five counts)
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

As a result of these arrests, and further investigation, search warrants were obtained and executed. Another man was arrested and charged with weapons and drug offences, not related to the robberies.

James Patz, 35, of Toronto, faces the following charges:

1) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
2) Possession of Cocaine
3) Possession of Marijuana
4) Possession of the Proceeds of Crime
5) Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

All these men appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East or Old City Hall Court on Saturday, March 29, 2014, or Monday, March 31, 2014.

One man remains outstanding. An arrest warrant has been issued for:

Oswald Forde, 28, of Toronto, for the following charges:

1) Robbery While Armed with a Firearm (eight counts)
2) Wear a Disguise with Intent (four counts)

Police are warning the public he is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach him. Call 9-1-1.
