The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests in a joint-forces cross-border firearms trafficking investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Sunday, March 16, 2014, acting on information from the Toronto Police Service's Firearm Enforcement Unit, the Canada Border Services Agency stopped a couple and their two children as they crossed into Canada on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls

Donald Earl Hare, 44, is facing the following charges:
1) Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms
2) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Firearms (14 counts)
3) Importing Firearms (14 counts)
4) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Not Authorized (nine counts)
5) Possession of a Firearm Not Holder of a Licence (eight counts)
6) Import Prohibited Device
7) Possession of a Prohibited Device
8) Smuggling (Customs Act) (eight counts)
9) Make False Statement (Customs Act) (eight counts)
10) Trafficking Firearms
11) Carry Concealed Weapon
12) Careless Storage of a Firearm
13) Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
Amanda Brent, 43, is facing the following charges:
1) Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms
2) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Firearms (eight counts)
3) Importing Firearms (seven Counts)
4) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Not Authorized (eight counts)
5) Possession of a Firearm Not Holder of a Licence (seven counts)
6) Import Prohibited Device
7) Possession of a Prohibited Device
8) Smuggling (Customs Act) (eight counts)
9) Make False Statement (Customs Act) (eight counts)
