The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in a robbery and stabbing investigation.
It is alleged that:
-on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for a stabbing at the Scarborough Town Centre.
- a woman, 26, was robbed of her cell phone by two girls as she exited the Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall
- she chased after the girls and attempted to get her cell phone back
- she was stabbed numerous times in the face and upper body during the attack
On Monday, March 24, 2014, two 16-year-old girls were arrested and charged with:
1) Robbery
2) Attempted Murder
3) Aggravated Assault
4) Theft Under $5,000
They were both scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 9:30 a.m.
The two Young Persons cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
