Two men wanted in rental fraud investigation, Matthew Dodd, 41, and Steven Redigonda, 51, Update, Both men located and arrested

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of two arrests in a rental fraud investigation.

Officers from several divisions, in co-ordination with the Corporate Crimes Section of the Financial Crimes Unit, identified two men wanted for allegedly defrauding residential landlords and short-term rental hosts throughout the city.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, both men were located and arrested by York Regional Police.

Matthew Dodd, 41, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Fraudulently Obtaining Food and Lodging
2. Identity Theft
3. Mischief Over $5000
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
5. Theft Over $5000
6. Two counts of Unlawfully in a dwelling house
7. Forgery
8. Fraud Exceeding $5000
9. Possession of a Fraudulent passport

Steven Redigonda, 51, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Unlawfully in a Dwelling
2. Fail to Appear for fingerprints

They are both to appear in court at College Park via video on Wednesday, August, 25, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., in court room 501.
