Man faces 42 sex-related charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- the accused is a grade 4/6 French teacher at Inglewood Heights Jr. Public School and has been a teacher with the Toronto District School Board since 2007

- between September 2012 and March 2013 the accused sexually assaulted and made comments to several students

On Wednesday, March 27, 2013, Christian Kpodjie, 53, of Toronto, surrendered himself to police. He has been charged with:

1. 16 counts of Sexual Assault
2. 12 counts of Sexual Exploitation
3. 14 counts of Assault

The accused appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, room 412 at 10 a.m.

A sexual assault is defined by the Criminal Code of Canada as any form of unwanted sexual contact. It includes, but is not limited to, kissing, grabbing, oral sex and penetration.
