Today, June 22, 2021, the Toronto Police Service attended Trinity Bellwoods Park to support the City of Toronto's initiative to move encampment residents to safe, indoor accommodations. The police role was to keep the peace and ensure the safety of the encampment residents, City of Toronto bylaw officers and staff as well as the broader community.
There were three people arrested today on criminal charges:
Rebecca McKay, 35, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Assault with a Weapon
Devon Sutherland, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Assault Peace Officer
Jeremy Magyar, 33 of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. two counts of Weapons Dangerous
Court dates for these individuals will be provided when information is available.
