The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a homicide investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a man was returning to his apartment in the Danforth Road and Brimley Road area
- he was assaulted by a man known to him who was armed with a baseball bat
- the man died the next day
The victim has been identified as Vijanant Persaud, 37, of Toronto.
The suspect was identified as Martin Harris, 53, of Toronto. He was arrested and charged with:
1. Second-Degree Murder
He appeared in court virtually today (Thursday, June 17, 2021) and will next appear at Toronto East Courts on Thursday, July 15, 2021, 9 a.m., room 407.
