Shooting Investigation, 55 Beverly Hills Drive, Three individuals arrested, Three others wanted by police

The Toronto Police Service is searching for three men wanted in connection with a shooting at a memorial event.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, police attended a shooting call at 55 Beverly Hills Drive.

It is alleged that:

- a large crowd of people had gathered at this location for a memorial for Demarjio Jenkins, a local hip-hop artist known as Houdini, who was killed in a shooting in downtown Toronto

- the crowd had gathered at a parking lot that borders the north side of Highway 401

- at approximately 11:21 p.m., a vehicle travelling west on Highway 401 drove on the curb lane directly alongside the gathering in the parking lot

- at least one occupant from this vehicle fired gun shots, causing the crowd in the parking lot to scramble for cover

- at least nine people in the parking lot then brandished and discharged firearms in the direction of Highway 401, for a duration of approximately 45 seconds

- numerous west bound vehicles drove past this location during the 45 seconds as gunfire was being aimed towards highway 401

- two victims suffered from gunshot wounds sustained during this incident and attended a local hospital following the shooting

As a result of an investigation led by the Toronto Police Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force - Centralized Shooting Response Team, six people have been identified as participants in the shooting to date. Three individuals have been arrested, and police have obtained warrants for the arrest of three outstanding offenders.

Traequan Mahoney, 21, of Brampton, has been arrested. He has been charged with:

1. Discharge Firearm With Intent to Wound
2. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Fail to Comply with a Release Order

Gaddiel Ledinek, 25, of Newmarket, has been arrested. He has been charged with:

1. Discharge Firearm With Intent to Wound
2. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Fail to Comply with a Release Order (2 counts)

Maurice Donegan, 37, of Toronto, has been arrested. He has been charged with:

1. Discharge Firearm With Intent to Wound
2. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Police have identified Javontae Johnson, 19, of Oshawa, Terrrell Burke Whittaker, 25, of Brampton and Glen Danchie, 30, of Toronto, all as suspects involved in the shooting. Warrants for their arrests have been obtained by police.

Police are appealing for information from the public that may lead to the arrest of Javontae Johnson, Terrell Burke Whittaker, and Glen Danchie. There are other individuals involved in this shooting incident who have not yet been identified. Police are also appealing for witnesses in these active investigations.
