Public Safety Alert, Jameson Avenue and Leopold Street area, Attempt Forcible Entry into Apartment

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with an Attempt Forcible Entry investigation.

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, officers attended the area of Jameson Avenue and Leopold Street.

It was reported that:

- a man was loitering outside of an apartment complex

- the man entered the apartment complex and made his way to an apartment door

- the man tried opening the door but it was locked and he began to knock on it

- a woman started to open the door and the man attempted to force his way into the apartment

- the man said that he was going to sexually assault her

- the woman was able to get her door closed and locked, and called 9-1-1

- the man fled the scene

The man was described as 5'7" to 5'10", in his 30's, with a medium build, and a black moustache.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue toque, a black and white checkered scarf, a brown leather jacket, black pants, and black running shoes.
