The Toronto Police Service has arrested a man in a sexual assault investigation.
On Thursday, January 14, 2021, at approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for a sexual assault in the Richmond Street East and Sherbourne Street area.
It is alleged that:
- a 22-year-old woman was sleeping in her apartment when a man entered her unlocked unit
- the man sexually assaulted the woman and fled
The man was identified as Elisha Velasquez, 31, of Vancouver.
He was arrested on Friday, January 15, at 12:45 a.m and is facing the following 13 charges:
1. Break and Enter Commit
2. Sexual Assault
3. Unlawfully in a Dwelling
4. Mischief Under $5000
5.two counts of Fail to Comply with
6. Possession of Break in instrument
7. Unauthorized possession of a firearm
8. two counts of Careless storage of a Firearm
9. Possession Firearm with altered serial number
10. Possession Proceeds of Crime over $5000.00
11. Possession Firearm while Prohibited
He was scheduled to attend court on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 10 a.m., at College Park Court, 444 Yonge Street, Room 507.
