On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to 10 Jeffton Crescent for a fire.
Police and Toronto Fire Services located a man inside the home with no vital signs. He was pronounced on scene.
He has been identified as John Aguiar, 87.
Police and TFS located a second man inside the home, also with no vital signs. He, too, was pronounced on scene.
It is alleged that this man intentionally set fire to the home.
He has been identified as Avelino Aguiar, 55.
A post-mortem examination concluded both men died as a result of smoke inhalation.
This investigation is concluded.
