The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in relation to a bank robbery that occurred in the Bloor Street West and Bathurst Street area.
It is alleged that:
- on Friday, March 17, 2020, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a man entered the bank and approached one of the tellers
- he handed the teller a threatening note that demanded cash
- the man was given a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene on foot
Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify the man and on Friday, May 1, 2020, a man was arrested.
It is further alleged:
- at the time of the man's arrest, he was wearing some of the clothing that was worn during the robbery
A search warrant was also executed at a property.
Calvin Baldeau, 28, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Robbery
He was scheduled to appear at court on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Old City Hall Court, Room 101.
