The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to advise the public of an arrest made in a retail robbery investigation.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, a convenience retail store robbery took place in the Niagara Street and King Street West area.
It is alleged that:
- two men entered a store while concealing their identities
- one of the men made demands for cash
- the other man walked behind the checkout counter and began to punch the store employee in the face
- the men took a cash box and the cash register, and fled the area on foot
The Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation and determined the identity of one of the men.
On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Enrico Bonollo, 50, Toronto was arrested. He is charged with:
1. Robbery
2. Assault
3. Disguise with Intent
4. Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was scheduled to appear at court at Old City Hall on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.
Hold Up Squad officers are continuing the investigation in a bid to identify a suspect who remains outstanding.
