Personal Injury Collision #11/2020, Keele Street at Lawrence Avenue West

On Monday, March 30, 2020, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision that occurred in the Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue West area.

It is reported that:

- a 42-year-old woman was standing on a pedestrian island located at the south west corner of Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue West

- a 44-year-old man, driving a 2020 Hino Commercial Truck, was south on Keele Street approaching Lawrence Avenue West

- at the same time, a 59-year-old woman - who was driving a 2019 Acura RDX - was north on Keele Street turning left onto Lawrence Avenue West

- the driver of the Hino swerved to avoid a collision with the driver of the Acura

- the truck then mounted the island that the woman was standing on, and struck her and a light pole

The woman suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

Both drivers remained on scene.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
