The Toronto Police Service requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man as part of a robbery investigation.
On Thursday, March 19, 2020, at approximately 12:20 p.mm., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Albion Road and Shendale Drive area.
It is reported that:
- a 75-year-old woman was sitting in a bus shelter waiting for the bus
- she was approached by a man armed with a stick
- he demanded her purse
- a struggled ensued and the man struck the woman with the stick
- the woman attempted to flee but was pursued by the man
- he ripped her purse away causing her to fall to the pavement
- he then fled the area
He is described as 19-21, approximately 5’9", 180 lbs., with short black hair. He was wearing a white hoody, black pants, and black shoes.
Security camera images have been released.
