The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an armed home invasion robbery that occurred in the Ellesmere Road And Brimley Road area.
It is alleged that:
- on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, three suspects forced their way into a home while wearing masks and gloves, each armed with a handgun
- they demanded money from the victims while waving their firearms around
- they assaulted one victim by striking them in the head with a handgun
- they took a small amount of money and then fled the home
Divisional officers arrived on scene as the suspects were exiting the home and were able to make one arrest. A Police K9 Unit was used to locate a second suspect who was then also placed under arrest.
It is further alleged that:
- police recovered a loaded handgun on each of the men as they were taken into custody
Terrell Als, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Forcible Confinement
4. Use Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
7. Possession of Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
8. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
9. Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
10. Possession Property Obtained by Crime
Omar Williams, 26, of Ajax, was charged with:
1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Forcible Confinement
4. Use Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
7. Possession of Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
8. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
9. two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
10. Possession Property Obtained by Crime
They both appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Thursday, March 19, 2020, 10 a.m., room 412.
Hold Up Squad officers are continuing the investigation in an attempt to identify and locate a third suspect.
