The Toronto Police Service is informing the public of an investigation which it conducted at the Toronto South Detention Centre.
It is alleged that:
- on Friday, December 20, 2019, a prisoner serving a custodial sentence was assaulted by six correctional officers
On Friday, March 6, 2020, five men surrendered to 11 Division. They were arrested and each charged with:
1. Aggravated Assault
They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, April 20, 2020, at 2 p.m., room 202.
The sixth man is expected to be charged at a future date.
