On December 28, 2013, the Toronto Police Service announced it was seeking the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.
It was reported that:
- on Thursday, December 26, 2013, a 31-year-old man was at a restaurant in the Midland Avenue/Silverstar Boulevard area

On Tuesday, December 31, 2013, police arrested Rong Chun Wu, 28, of Markham.
He is charged with:
1) Attempt murder
2) Discharge firearm with intent
3) Careless use of firearm
4) Pointing a firearm
5) Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
6) Carrying concealed weapon
7) Unauthorized possession of firearm
8) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on January, 1, 2014.
