Man arrested in two sexual assault investigations, Nam Ly, 62

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in two sexual assault investigations.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 2 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault at Sheppard West Subway Station.

It is alleged that:

- a woman boarded a TTC bus

- a man sat down beside her ignoring the empty seats

- he sexually assaulted her

- the woman told the bus operator who called police

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at approximately 2:25 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault at Jane Subway Station.

- a 24-year-old woman was on board a TTC bus

- a man sat down beside her

- he sexually assaulted her

- she fled the bus, the suspect stayed on board

On Thursday, October 17, 2019, Nam Ly, 62, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Sexual Assault

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 10 a.m., in courtroom 306.
