Public Safety Alert Carjacking Spadina Road/Eglinton Avenue West

Toronto Police would like to notify the public of a robbery and carjacking in the area of Spadina Road and Eglinton Avenue West.

At approximately 8.15pm on Saturday, October 12, 2019 it is alleged that:

- A couple were parked in a 2017 grey Toyota Camry in a parking lot when two men approached them

- The men made demands for their wallets, cellphones and the keys to the vehicle

- One suspect was believed to be armed with a knife, while the other brandished the handle of a suspected firearm which was tucked in the front waist-band of his pants

- The duo then demanded the pair get out of the car before driving the vehicle away from the scene


The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 – Black, 18 to 25 years old, thin build, approximately 5'10” to 6’0”, wearing all black clothes with a black face mask.

Suspect #2- White, 18 to 25 years old, thin build, with blonde hair, approximately 5'11” to 6’0”, wearing all black with a hood and also wearing a black mask.

TPS urges the public to remain vigilant and always aware of their surroundings when parked in, or getting out of, a vehicle.
