On Friday, December 13, 2013 at approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a Theft in Progress call in the Yonge Street/Broadway Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- on a previous date, a man and a woman were observed by store security staff stealing a laptop before making good their escape
- the suspects returned on this occasion, were recognized as the ones responsible for the previous theft, and arrested
Tibor Nagy, 42, and Erzsebet Virag, 36, both of Toronto, are each charged with:
1) Theft - under ($5,000)
2) Possession - over ($5,000)
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
Investigators are requesting the public's assistance identifying items recovered as a result of this investigation.
The items recovered are jewelry, including gold chains, bracelets, rings and watches.
Police will also have photographs of the items for public viewing at the front desk of 53 Division at 75 Eglinton Avenue West.
