On Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, 3401 Dufferin Street, in front of the Famous Players/Indigo entrance, Deputy Chief Andrew Fletcher, Halton Regional Police Service and Chair, OACP Community Safety and Crime Prevention Committee; Rick Dubin, Vice-President, Investigative Services, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and Raymond G. Leclair, Vice-President, Public Affairs, TitlePLUS Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company will launch this year's Lock It or Lose It Campaign.
Police leaders and officers from the Toronto Police Service and other police services will be joined by campaign supporters to kick off the OACP's annual province-wide crime-prevention campaign, targeting auto thefts and valuables in unsecured vehicles. Officers will be going out into the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot to check on vehicles following the media event.
Under the Lock It or Lose It Program, police officers throughout Ontario examine parked vehicles to confirm they are locked and that no valuables have been left in plain view.
Media are invited to join police officers on a walk-through of the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot as officers look for unsecured vehicles.
