The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in multiple Mischief investigations.
It is alleged that:
- on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, a man was driving a black Mercedes-Benz when he drove into numerous businesses and storefronts across the GTA
- these locations included a place of worship, banks, dealerships, and a community centre
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Police arrested a 25-year-old man in the McLevin Avenue and Tapscott Road area
Pavithran Tharmapalan, 25, of Pickering, was charged with:
1) 11 counts of Mischief Over $5000
2) three counts of Mischief Under $5000
3) Fail to Stop for Police/Pursuit
He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Thursday, May 30, 2019, 10 a.m., room 501.
He is also facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
The black Mercedes-Benz was located and seized.
Investigators are appealing for security or dash camera video and any other information in relation to this investigation to contact them.
