The Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad is requesting the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a fraud/identity theft investigation in the United States of America.
Osaruyi Igbinob Enazena, 52, is wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for extradition to the United States.
The Canadian permanent resident, who is originally from Nigeria, has been charged in Ohio in relation to a complex bank fraud and identify theft investigation.
He is described as 5'9", 210 lbs.
Investigators believe he is still in Canada. Enazena has family and friends in the Greater Toronto Area and is known to go by several different names: Eric Igbinoba, Osabowven Obika, Igbinoba Osavonwen
Timeline of last time he was seen:
- On Monday, February 5, 2018, he was was arrested on a provisional arrest warrant for extradition to face the charges against him in the USA.
- Following a contested bail hearing on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, he was released on bail to live in Brampton, Ontario
- On the morning of Monday, July 30, 2018, he attended the Superior Court of Justice in Brampton, Ontario, for his extradition hearing. At the end of the morning court session the Judge rejected several defence motions and advised he would make his decision after lunch
- After lunch Enazena did not return to court and is currently on the run. The Judge entered his ruling in Enazena’s absence ordering him to be committed to custody pending extradition
- After reviewing security video Enazena was last seen leaving the Brampton Courthouse and walking toward Hurontario Street
