Assault rifle seized, Man, 39, facing 11 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of a recent arrest and related seizure of a firearm.

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 8:58 p.m., members of the Toronto Police Service executed a search warrant in the Dawes Road and Danforth Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- officers recovered and seized an SKS 7.62 assault rifle with a fold-out bayonet and sawed-off stock along with ammunition, a large quantity of marijuana, and a quantity of hashish and cocaine.

Robert Rainshadow, 39, of North York, was arrested and charged with:

1. Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
2. Possession Of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtain
5. Careless Storage of Firearm
6. Careless Storage of Ammunition
7. Possession of a Schedule I Substance
8. Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
9. Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
10. Possession of a Schedule II Substance
11. Possession of a Schedule II Substance

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10 a.m.
