On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Seneca College, Newnham Campus, 1750 Finch Avenue East, in the Student Residence & Conference Centre, from 9 a.m. - 2:45 p.m., I Can Rise Above, in partnership with Toronto Community Housing, Toronto Police Service 33 Division, Seneca, Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities and Read2Rap, will be hosting the 1st-ever International Men's Day Conference for youth.
The theme is focused on HIStory - "Where Do I Fit In," challenging our male youth to have a better understanding of their experiences within today's society.
The morning session will be broken up into a series of group discussions around family, friends and professions. The afternoon session will consist of youth participating in an interactive open discussion on man and his role in society. A panel of special guests will be on hand to help lead the open dialogue as the Read2Rap program captures their voices throughout the discussion. Social media will be used to allow participants to also voice their opinions.
