The recent super-typhoon Haiyan has caused extensive damage throughout the Philippine islands, resulting in thousands of deaths. Many communities have sustained major infrastructure damage, leaving millions without shelter, food and water.
The Toronto Police Service's Asia Pacific Community Consultative Committee, in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and GlobalMedic, is announcing its campaign to provide immediate and effective assistance for all those affected.
Because the Philippines is not in a position to accept and distribute items of clothing and food in an effective and efficient manner at this time, online accounts have been set up for Toronto Police Service members and the public to make cash donations.
