Man faces 52 charges in fraud investigation

On Friday, March 15, 2013, police arrested a man in connection with a fraud investigation.

It is alleged that:

- between November 2012 and March 2013, the accused responded to advertisements on Kijiji for the sale of jewellery

- the accused would meet with the seller and purchase the jewellery with a counterfeit certified cheque or counterfeit Canadian/American currency

It is further alleged that:

- the accused would then sell the jewellery on Kijiji

Michael Morris, 24, of Toronto, also known as Michael Love, Jason Love, Paul Love, and Jason Williams, has been charged with:

1) five counts of Fraud Over
2) five counts of Utter Forged Document
3) three counts of Fraud Under
4) 10 counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
5) five counts of Possession of Counterfeit money
6) two counts of Assault with intent to resist arrest
7) Fail to attend court
8) eight counts of Fail to comply with Probation
9) four counts of Uttering Counterfeit Money
10) three counts of Possession of property obtained by crime
11) Attempt Fraud Under
12) Use credit card obtained by crime
13) Fraudulently possess credit card data
14) Personation with intent
15) Uttering forged Passport application
16) Identity theft

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Monday, March 18, 2013, room 501, at 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be more victims.
