On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 4:34 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Dwight Avenue.
It is reported that:
- a 51-year-old-woman was riding a bicycle westbound on Lake Shore Boulevard West in the passing lane and lost control of her bicycle
- a 62-year-old-man was operating a 1997 Mercury van eastbound on Lake Shore Boulevard West in the passing lane
- as the woman fell, she landed in the passing lane of eastbound Lake Shore Boulevard West and was struck by the eastbound van.
The woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
