Three men arrested in a car, face 19 charges, Drugs and firearm seized

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of the arrest of three men.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, September 9, 2013, Drug Squad officers were patrolling the Islington Avenue/St. Georges Boulevard area

- the officers began investigating three men in a car

- heroin, crystal methamphetamine, ketamine, GHB and a quantity of cash were found within the car

It is further alleged that:

- a search warrant was conducted at a home in the area

- a .357 Taurus revolver was seized

- a quantity of crystal methamphetamine was seized

Christopher Mitchell, 31, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession for the purpose - heroin
2) two counts of Possession for the purpose - controlled substance
3) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
4) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
5) Careless storage of a firearm
6) Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
7) two counts of Fail to comply with probation


Darren Hayward, 36, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) three counts of Possession for the purpose - controlled substance
2) Possession of proceeds of Crime


Michele Albergo, 31, of Toronto , was charged with:

1) two counts of Possession for the purpose - controlled substance
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
4) Careless storage of a firearm
5) Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order

They appeared in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10 a.m., courtroom 103.
