On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at approximately 10:50 p.m., two police officers were speaking with a man in front of 53 Division on Duplex Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West.
It is alleged that:
- the officers were speaking to the man in relation to his interfering with traffic
- the man suddenly attacked both officers, causing serious injuries to one of them
The officer was taken to hospital and treated for a head injury.
Alexander James, 22, of Newmarket, was charged with:
1. Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer
2. Assault Peace Officer
His court date has not yet been scheduled.
