Chief Bill Blair will kick off the 16th annual Toronto Police Service Stationary Bike Race at Toronto Police Service Headquarters courtyard, 40 College Street, on Thursday, September 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. Also attending will be Vice-Chair of the Police Services Board and City Councillor Michael Thompson and Susan McIsaac, President of United Way Toronto.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the lobby of Headquarters.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way of Greater Toronto.

Over 20 teams of Toronto Police Service members will be competing in the race. Six team members cycle for 10 minutes each in a bid to cover the most kilometres. Teams will also be awarded for creative costumes.

Teams are encouraged to be creative with names and costumes, as prizes will be awarded in each category.

Toronto Police Service members raise over $500,000 each year for the United Way of Greater Toronto.

United Way Fundraising Coordinator Kathy LeBarr will be on hand to answer any questions regarding this year's fundraising campaign.
